CFPC Upcoming Events – May 2019

Festivus – April 2019

Festivus was awesome! Thank you to everyone who came out to participate, volunteer, and/or cheer! We couldn’t have done it without you! We are hoping to host the next Festivus in September of this year. It will also be partners, but this time they will be same-sex.

Annual Murph – May 20th, 2019

We will be doing Murph on Monday, May 20th, 2019. We will meet at the gym at 10:00 a.m. for both Murph/Smurph.  Afterwards there will be a Social & BBQ. Feel free to bring beverages & sides for the BBQ!

Monday, May 20th, 2019 @ 10:00 a.m.

Movement Seminar

We all know the importance of proper mobility and movement mechanics, but most of us have a hard time implementing a good mobility routine into our lives. In this movement seminar we will go over a small movement test to see how your body is tight; and uncover some of the common movement restrictions we see that can be holding us back from moving and performing our best. We can then cover some mobility drills that you can do pre/post training specific to your needs.

  • Movement Assessment
  • Mobility work for common areas of tightness
  • Stability work for common areas of weakness
  • Applying this to daily life and the movements we perform.

Saturday, May 25th, 2019 @ 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Cost is $20

Barbell Club

Barbell Club is starting it’s Powerlifting Cycle on May 8th, 2019. This cycle will include the different techniques used in each of the 3 lifts (Backsquat, Bench Press, & Deadlift), as well as how to train for a competition. Athletes will also learn how to build and peak – this will work well for anyone wanting to participate in the Meet at the Mountains competition.

Barbell Club was recently changed from Saturdays @ 10 a.m. to Wednesday evenings. There is still some interest in continuing to also run the same program on the following Saturday – if you’re interested in the Saturday class, please let Shara know!

Barbell Club – Wednesdays @ 6:30pm

Everyone is welcome to come; it’s free for CFPC members.

Running Club

This course is designed for athletes of all skill levels. You will learn all you need to know about running in all kinds of weather, biomechanics, nutrition, goal setting, injury prevention, motivation, pacing, and much more. Be sure to check out the poster for more information (above the water fountain) or ask your coach!
